Copper Marans Chicks
Copper Marans are a truly stunning breed, full of personality and vigor. They are a large bird who lay large eggs that hatch into large chicks. They are an almost regal site around the homestead, gorgeous and they know it!
Copper Marans are known for their exceptionally dark brown, large eggs. Hens lay their darkest eggs at point of lay and after molt when they start a new laying season, after that the eggs fade over the course of the season. These eggs can look almost "red", be very heavily speckled, and have rose or almost purple blooms on them.
We began with Copper Marans around 9 years ago with eggs sourced from Brian Park, Beverly Davis, and Little Peddler lines. We have continually worked to improve our lines and focus on breeding for shell color. We added some new blood from Leslie DeBona around 4 years ago, as well as some from Skygirl Farms 3 years ago.
Our Copper Marans are blue, black, and splash in plumage, all with feathered shanks.
Chicks are sold straight run, unsexed.
