Olive Egger Chicks
Olive Eggers are some of the most incredible crosses we produce. We started with Copper Marans roosters over true Ameraucana hens around 11 years ago and have been growing and developing our flocks ever since to encourage more genetic diversity. Our Olive Egger hens are blue, black, and splash in plumage, with varying degrees of feathered shanks, beards, and/ or muffs.
The shades of olive range from mint chocolate chip to Dijon mustard to Army green and everything in between. Eggs are both speckled and matte.
Our Olive Eggers are kept in three separate coops, one with Copper Marans roosters one with Olive Egger roosters. These are considered "back crosses", and the offspring will lay either a darker Olive or possibly a dark Chocolate color.
We also keep a flock of F1 Olive Eggers and F2+ Olive Eggers in a coop with Ameraucana roosters. Eggs from this coop will be guaranteed to continue to lay olive eggs and are not considered back crosses. We are endlessly proud of our Olive Eggers!
In the last four years we have started furthering our breeding for fibromelanistic Olive Eggers and Easter Eggers. We have an amazing Svart Hona rooster along with a couple high expression Fibro cross roosters covering our Fibro flock. Fibro OE/EE eggs can be included with the purchase of Olive Egger eggs or Rainbow mixed dozens.
Chicks are sold straight run, unsexed.
Shipping
Chicks are packaged in USPS approved shipping boxes, and sent USPS Express one to two day mail. The shiping is a flat rate for 6-25 chicks. We have a 6 chick minimum during the Spring and Summer to make sure the group stays warm enough during transit (10 chick minimum from October 1 to April 15th).
