Olive Egger Eggs
Olive Eggers are some of the most incredible crosses we produce. We started with Copper Marans roosters over true Ameraucana hens around 11 years ago and have been growing and developing our flocks ever since to encourage more genetic diversity. Our Olive Egger hens are blue, black, and splash in plumage, with varying degrees of feathered shanks, beards, and/ or muffs.
The shades of olive range from mint chocolate chip to Dijon mustard to Army green and everything in between. Eggs are both speckled and matte.
Our Olive Eggers are kept in three separate coops, one with Copper Marans roosters, one with Olive Egger roosters, and one with Ameraucana roosters. Eggs from the first two listed coops are considered "back crosses", and the offspring will lay either a darker Olive or possibly a dark Chocolate color. Eggs from the third coop are guaranteed to continue to lay olive eggs as the hens in there are either brown laying (F1 one generation offspring) or F2+ Olive hens who are being bred to a blue gene rooster, which will result in all offspring continuing to lay green eggs. We are endlessly proud of our Olive Eggers!
In the last three years we have started furthering our breeding for fibromelanistic Olive Eggers and Easter Eggers. Fibro OE/EE eggs can be included with the purchase of Olive Egger eggs or Rainbow mixed dozens.
Shipping
Eggs are packaged in custom foam shippers, double boxed, and sent USPS priority two to three day mail. We ship eggs that are a maximum of three days post-lay at time of shipping. We do our very best to protect the eggs from rough handling, but we have no control over what happens to the box once it leaves our possession.
